It is that time of year – the time for the Gifts from the Heart Concert that benefits the Milagro House in Lancaster. This year the Popovsky Performing Arts Studio presents the 5^th annual Gifts from the Heart benefit. This concert benefits the Milagro House, which provides education, housing and counseling to women. It is a great event with an exciting night of entertainment, and provides support for a very good cause.

I have attended this event for the last few years, and it is truly a great night of entertainment. This year the show involves people from the Fulton Theatre, American Music Theatre, Broadway, the West End and Sight and Sound. Some of the people you can expect to see are: Alisa Endsley from Broadway and the West End, Michael J. Austin from American Music Theatre and the Fulton Theatre, Jessica Dey from Fulton Theatre, Rejinald Woods from Sight and Sound and PRiMA, Julie Keough from American Music Theatre and Michael Popovsky who is the founder of Popovsky Performing Arts Studio and has performed with the Fulton Theatre, Opera Lancaster, and Ephrata Performing Arts Center.  In addition to this great lineup is Break from Blue Collar, a lively local barbershop quartet. Lastly, I need to mention that Miss Pennsylvania, Amanda Fallon Smith, will also be performing at this year’s Gifts from the Heart.

This event is unique in that it is a wonderful mix of the talents from various backgrounds that include local performers, Broadway performers and students from Popovsky Performing Arts studio. There is a special energy that is created when these fine talented performers grace the stage at Gifts from the Heart, and it provides for a fantastic night of entertainment.
